Educational Q&A

Ritual purity and charitable giving, when performed with paramārtha (the highest spiritual aim), are presented as dharmic acts that yield merit and guide one onward on a sacred path.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that Balarāma bathes at a tīrtha, gives various donations, gains the fruit of dharma, and then travels onward to Soma’s renowned sacred ford (sutīrtha).
