Inquiry into Kumāra (Skanda) Investiture at Sarasvatī

Educational Q&A

When a deed becomes morally troubling and its consequences return to question the doer, one must seek higher discernment and accept accountability. Indra’s distress and his turning to Brahmā highlight the dharmic impulse to submit one’s actions to a wiser authority rather than conceal or rationalize them.

A mysterious head repeatedly presses Indra with the same earlier question. Disturbed by this relentless confrontation, Indra goes to Brahmā (called Pitāmaha) and reports the entire matter, placing the situation before the creator-god for clarification and resolution.
