कुमाराभिषेकप्रश्नः — Inquiry into Kumāra (Skanda) Investiture at Sarasvatī

राक्षसान्नमसौ भुडुक्ते यो भुद्धक्ते हान्नमीदृशम्‌ । “जिस अन्नपर थूक पड़ गयी हो

rākṣasānnam asau bhuṅkte yo bhuktvā hānnam īdṛśam |

Vaiśampāyana dit : Quiconque mange une telle nourriture, c’est comme s’il mangeait la part destinée aux Rākṣasas. La nourriture sur laquelle on a craché, celle qui est infestée de vers, les restes d’autrui, celle souillée par des cheveux tombés, obtenue dans le mépris, profanée par des larmes ou touchée par des chiens, est déclarée en ce monde appartenir aux Rākṣasas. C’est pourquoi l’homme avisé doit, avec soin et discernement, renoncer à toutes ces nourritures, préservant la pureté, la dignité de soi et la conduite selon le dharma, même au milieu des épreuves.
