Vasiṣṭhāpavāha: Sarasvatī’s Diversion and Viśvāmitra’s Curse (वसिष्ठापवाहः)
तत्रेष्टवा पुरुषव्याप्रो ययाति: पृथिवीपति: । अक्रामदूर्ध्व मुदितो लेभे लोकांश्व पुष्कलान्
tatreṣṭvā puruṣavyāpro yayātiḥ pṛthivīpatiḥ | akrāmad ūrdhvaṃ mudito lebhe lokāṃś ca puṣkalān ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana dit : Là, le roi Yayāti—plein d’ardeur virile et seigneur de la terre—accomplit le sacrifice prescrit. Dans la joie, il s’éleva vers les mondes supérieurs et obtint d’abondants royaumes de mérite.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Rightly performed sacrificial duty (yajña as dharma) yields puṇya and leads to higher states of existence; disciplined action has corresponding spiritual fruit (karma-phala).
The narrator reports that King Yayāti performed a sacrifice at that place, became joyful, and then ascended upward to higher worlds where he attained many meritorious realms.
