अध्याय ४ — दुर्योधनस्य असंधि-निश्चयः
Duryodhana’s Refusal of Reconciliation
उवाच वाक्य यद् भीम: सभामध्ये विशाम्पते । कृतं तत् सफल तेन भूयश्नैव करिष्यति,'प्रजानाथ! द्यूतसभामें भीमसेनने जो बात कही थी, उसे उन्होंने सत्य कर दिखाया और जो शेष है, उसे भी वे अवश्य ही पूर्ण करेंगे
sañjaya uvāca |
uvāca vākyaṃ yad bhīmaḥ sabhāmadhye viśāṃpate |
kṛtaṃ tat saphalaṃ tena bhūyaś caiva kariṣyati ||
Sañjaya dit : Ô seigneur des peuples, les paroles que Bhīma prononça au milieu de l’assemblée royale, il les a rendues vraies par ses actes. Et ce qui demeure, il l’accomplira assurément aussi. Le récit met en relief la force morale d’une parole jurée : dans le creuset de la guerre, le serment de Bhīma dans la salle des dés n’apparaît pas comme une simple colère, mais comme un engagement contraignant, poursuivi pour rétablir la justice et répondre à l’humiliation par une action responsable.
