Saptasārasvata-tīrtha-prasaṅgaḥ | The Saptasārasvata Pilgrimage Account and the Maṅkaṇaka Narrative
ऋषयो बहवो राजंस्तत् सत्रमभिपेदिरे | वैशम्पायनजीने कहा--राजन्! पूर्वकालके सत्ययुगकी बात है वहाँ बारह वर्षोमें पूर्ण होनेवाले एक महान् यज्ञका अनुष्ठान आरम्भ किया गया था। उस सत्रमें नैमिषारण्यनिवासी तपस्वी मुनि तथा अन्य बहुतसे ऋषि पधारे थे
ṛṣayo bahavo rājan tat satram abhipedire |
Vaiśampāyana dit : « Ô roi, de nombreux sages vinrent et s’assemblèrent pour cette session sacrificielle (satra). » La formule ouvre une scène d’effort religieux collectif et discipliné, où des ascètes savants se réunissent pour maintenir l’ordre sacré par un rite long et réglé.
