भीमसेनस्य कौरवसुतवधः तथा श्रुतर्वावधः
Slaying of Kaurava princes and the fall of Śrutarvā
नातिप्रसिद्धेव गति: पाण्डवानामजायत । चारों ओर पर्वताकार विशालकाय हाथी पड़े थे, जो भीमसेन और अर्जुनके आघातोंसे पिस गये थे। उनके कारण पाण्डवोंका आगे बढ़ना अत्यन्त दुष्कर हो गया था ।। रथमार्ग ततश्षुक्रे भीमसेनो महाबल:
nātiprasiddheva gatiḥ pāṇḍavānām ajāyata | rathamārgaṃ tataḥ śukre bhīmaseno mahābalaḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : L’avance des Pāṇḍava sembla hésitante et entravée. Tout autour gisaient d’immenses éléphants, pareils à des montagnes, broyés sous les coups de Bhīmasena et d’Arjuna ; à cause d’eux, progresser devenait extrêmement difficile. Alors le très puissant Bhīmasena dégagea une voie pour les chars.
