Unrestrained Battle Description and Śakuni’s Rear Assault
योधयन्तावपश्येतां कृतप्रतिकृतैषिणौ । वे दोनों वीर महारथी उत्तम कुलमें उत्पन्न हुए थे! अतः समरांगणमें एक-दूसरेके प्रहारका प्रतीकार करनेकी इच्छा रखकर जूझते दिखायी देते थे
yodhayantāv apaśyetāṃ kṛta-pratikṛtaiṣiṇau |
Sañjaya dit : Tandis qu’ils combattaient, on les voyait tels deux guerriers résolus à rendre coup pour coup—chacun cherchant une riposte à la mesure de ce qu’il avait subi. Nés d’une noble lignée et formés comme de grands combattants de char, ils luttaient sur le champ de bataille avec la ferme volonté de répondre à la frappe de l’autre par un acte en retour, incarnant la rude réciprocité qui gouverne la guerre lorsque l’honneur et la vengeance deviennent la règle du moment.
