सहदेवस्तु समरे मातुल॑ भूरिवर्चसम् | सज्यमन्यद् धनु: कृत्वा पजचभि: समताडयत्
sahadevas tu samare mātulaṁ bhūrivarcasam | sajyam anyad dhanuḥ kṛtvā pañcabhiḥ samatāḍayat ||
Sañjaya dit : Au cœur de la mêlée, Sahadeva fit face à son oncle maternel, Śalya, guerrier éclatant et redoutable. Bandant un autre arc, il le frappa à plusieurs reprises de cinq flèches bien ajustées.
