सारथिं चास्य राजेन्द्र शितैर्विव्यधतु: शरै: । राजेन्द्र! फिर उन दोनों भाइयोंने भी पृथक्ू-पृथक् अनेक बाणोंसे नकुलको बींध डाला और पैने बाणोंद्वारा उनके सारथिको भी घायल कर दिया
sārathiṃ cāsya rājendra śitair vivyadhatuḥ śaraiḥ |
Sañjaya dit : «Ô roi, ces deux frères le percèrent de flèches acérées ; et de traits aigus ils blessèrent aussi son cocher.» Le vers souligne l’escalade inexorable du combat : même le conducteur du char—soutien indispensable mais non combattant—se trouve entraîné dans la blessure au cœur de la fureur guerrière.
