शल्यपर्वणि प्रथमाध्यायः — Karṇa-vadha-anantaraṃ Śalya-niyogaḥ, Saṃjayasya Dhṛtarāṣṭra-nivedanam

विसर्जयामास शनैर्वेपमान: पुन: पुन: । भरतश्रेष्ठ। उनके ऐसा कहनेपर बारंबार काँपते हुए विदुरजीने उन सब स्त्रियोंको धीरे- धीरे बिदा कर दिया

visarjayāmāsa śanair vepamānaḥ punaḥ punaḥ | bharataśreṣṭha |

Vaiśampāyana dit : «Tremblant à maintes reprises, il les congédia peu à peu.» Dans le récit, Vidura—ému par le chagrin mais maître de lui—renvoie doucement les femmes, incarnant une tenue digne au cœur de la douleur commune.
