अध्याय ९ — दुर्योधनस्य अन्त्यावस्था, विलापः, तथा सौप्तिक-प्रतिवृत्तम्
Duryodhana’s Final Condition, Lamentation, and the Night’s Report
धिगस्तु कृतवर्माणं मां कृपं च महारथम्
dhig astu kṛtavarmāṇaṁ māṁ kṛpaṁ ca mahāratham
Sañjaya dit : «Honte à Kṛtavarmā—et à moi aussi—et à Kṛpa, ce grand guerrier de char !» Dans ce sursaut de conscience, le narrateur condamne les auteurs (lui-même compris) pour un acte jugé indigne selon le code des kṣatriya, portant un verdict moral tranchant au lendemain de la violence nocturne.
