Aśvatthāman’s Curse, Parikṣit’s Future, and the Mani’s Restitution
परिक्षिन्नाम नृपतिर्मिषतस्ते सुदुर्मते । दुर्मते! इसके बाद तेरे देखते-देखते महाबाहु कुरुराज परीक्षित् ही इस भूमण्डलका सम्राट् होगा
parikṣinnāma nṛpatir miṣatas te sudurmate | durmate! iṣke bāda tere dekhate-dekhate mahābāhu kururāja parīkṣit hi asya bhūmaṇḍalasya samrāṭ bhaviṣyati ||
Vaiśampāyana dit : «Un roi nommé Parīkṣit s’élèvera—tandis que toi, ô esprit entièrement égaré, tu regarderas, impuissant. Oui, sous tes yeux mêmes, ce prince Kuru aux bras puissants, Parīkṣit, deviendra le souverain de toute cette terre.»
