गृहाण चक्रमित्युक्तो मया तु तदनन्तरम् | जग्राहोत्पत्य सहसा चक्रं सवब्येन पाणिना
gṛhāṇa cakram ity ukto mayā tu tad-anantaram | jagrāhotpatya sahasā cakraṃ savyena pāṇinā | sarva-yatna-balena api gṛhṇann evam idaṃ tataḥ | tataḥ sarva-balena api yad enaṃ na śaśāka ha |
Vaiśampāyana dit : Quand je lui dis : « Prends le disque », il bondit aussitôt et saisit la roue de la main gauche. Pourtant, malgré tous ses efforts et toute sa force, il ne put ni la soulever ni la déplacer. Et lorsque, s’étant tendu de toute sa puissance, il échoua encore à s’en emparer, le fils de Droṇa fut intérieurement accablé ; puis, épuisé par ses tentatives, il renonça à l’emporter.
