Nārada’s Examination of Royal Ethics
एतया वर्तमानस्य बुद्धया राष्ट्र न सीदति । विजित्य च महीं राजा सो>त्यन्तसुखमेधते,जो ऐसी बुद्धिके अनुसार बर्ताव करता है, उसका राष्ट्र कभी संकटमें नहीं पड़ता। वह राजा सारी पृथ्वीको जीतकर बड़े सुखसे दिनोदिन उन्नति करता है
etayā vartamānasya buddhyā rāṣṭra na sīdati | vijitya ca mahīṁ rājā so ’tyantasukham edhate ||
Nārada dit : «Lorsqu’un souverain se conduit selon un tel conseil de discernement, son royaume ne sombre pas dans la détresse. Ayant conquis la terre, ce roi prospère de jour en jour, s’épanouissant dans la félicité la plus haute—car son gouvernement est guidé par un jugement sain plutôt que par l’impulsion.»
