Śiśupāla-vākya: Bhīṣma-nindā and the ‘Haṃsa’ Exemplum (शिशुपालवाक्यम् — भीष्मनिन्दा, हंसदृष्टान्तः)

कृष्णेन हि जिता युद्धे बहव: क्षत्रियर्षभा: । जगत्‌ सर्व च वार््ष्णेये निखिलेन प्रतिक्ठितम्‌,श्रीकृष्णके द्वारा संग्राममें अनेक क्षत्रियशिरोमणि परास्त हुए हैं | यह सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌ वृष्णिकुलभूषण भगवान्‌ श्रीकृष्णमें ही पूर्णरूपसे प्रतिष्ठित है

kṛṣṇena hi jitā yuddhe bahavaḥ kṣatriyarṣabhāḥ | jagat sarvaṃ ca vārṣṇeye nikhilena pratiṣṭhitam ||

Bhīṣma dit : «En vérité, dans la guerre, bien des chefs kṣatriya, puissants comme des taureaux, ont été vaincus par Kṛṣṇa. Et ce monde tout entier, sans rien omettre, demeure établi en Vārṣṇeya (Kṛṣṇa), comme s’il reposait sur lui.»
