वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma-guided deliberation: Yudhiṣṭhira does not respond impulsively but answers after being addressed by a revered authority and after noting his brothers’ supportive readiness—suggesting that ethical decisions in royal life are shaped by counsel, composure, and responsible leadership.
Vaiśampāyana narrates a transition: after a revered figure speaks, Yudhiṣṭhira prepares to reply. He looks at Bhīma and Arjuna standing nearby with joyful faces, and then begins his response, indicating their encouragement and the gravity of the moment.
