Samrāt-Lakṣaṇa and the Counsel to Check Jarāsandha
evam atirathāḥ sapta rājann anyān nibodha me | kṛtavarmā haunādṛṣṭiḥ samīkaḥ samitiṃjayaḥ ||
The verse emphasizes discernment and accurate recognition of capability in a royal and martial context—knowing who the foremost warriors are is part of prudent leadership and responsible counsel.
Śrī Kṛṣṇa addresses the king and continues a listing, identifying additional ‘atiratha’ warriors—elite chariot-fighters—by name as part of a broader enumeration of notable combatants.
