अनुगृह्नन् प्रजा: सर्वा: सर्वधर्मभृतां वर: । अविशेषेण सर्वेषां हितं चक्रे युधिष्ठिर:,युधिष्ठिर समस्त धर्मात्माओंमें श्रेष्ठ थे। वे सारी प्रजापर अनुग्रह करके सबका समानरूपसे हितसाधन करने लगे
anugṛhṇan prajāḥ sarvāḥ sarvadharmabhṛtāṃ varaḥ | aviśeṣeṇa sarveṣāṃ hitaṃ cakre yudhiṣṭhiraḥ ||
Yudhiṣṭhira, le plus éminent parmi ceux qui portent toutes les formes du dharma, accorda sa faveur à l’ensemble du peuple. Sans établir de distinctions, il s’appliqua à garantir le bien-être de tous également—gouvernant avec une sollicitude impartiale et une responsabilité morale.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A righteous king’s dharma is impartial benevolence: to seek the welfare (hita) of all subjects without favoritism, grounding governance in compassion and ethical duty rather than personal preference.
Vaiśampāyana describes Yudhiṣṭhira’s conduct as a ruler: he shows kindness to the entire populace and actively works for everyone’s well-being equally, highlighting his reputation as the foremost upholder of dharma.
