Vasudeva–Arjuna Dialogue in the Aftermath of Dvārakā
स तान् दृष्टवा निपतितान् कदने भृशदु:खित: । बभूवातीव कौरव्य: प्राप्तकालं चकार ह,उस भीषण मारकाटमें मरकर धराशायी हुए यादवोंको देखकर कुरुकुलनन्दन अर्जुनको बड़ा भारी दुःख हुआ। उन्होंने ब्रह्मशापके कारण एरकासे उत्पन्न हुए मूसलोंद्वारा मारे गये यदुवंशी वीरोंके बड़े-छोटेके क्रमसे सारे समयोचित कार्य (अन्त्येष्टि कर्म) सम्पन्न किये
sa tān dṛṣṭvā nipatitān kadane bhṛśa-duḥkhitaḥ | babhūvātīva kauravyaḥ prāpta-kālaṃ cakāra ha ||
Voyant ces hommes gisant dans l’horrible carnage, Arjuna, prince des Kuru, fut accablé d’une douleur extrême. Puis, comme l’exigeait l’heure, il accomplit dûment les rites convenables : il exécuta, dans l’ordre qui sied aux grands comme aux humbles, les devoirs funéraires en temps voulu pour les héros yādava, tués par des massues de fer nées du roseau eraka sous l’effet d’une malédiction brahmanique.
