हतामित्रामिमामुर्वीमनुशाधि महाभुज । यत्तो भूत्वा सहास्माभिर्भुड्क्ष्व भोगांश्व॒ पुष्कलान्,“महाबाहो! आप सावधान होकर हम सब लोगोंके साथ इस निष्कंटक हुई पृथ्वीका शासन और प्रचुर भोगोंका उपभोग कीजिये”
hatāmitrām imām urvīm anuśādhi mahābhuja | yatto bhūtvā sahāsmābhir bhuṅkṣva bhogān puṣkalān ||
Sañjaya dit : «Ô toi aux bras puissants, maintenant que tes ennemis ont été abattus, gouverne cette terre. Demeure vigilant et, avec nous, jouis d’abondants plaisirs royaux.»
संजय उवाच
Victory in war is not an end in itself; it must be followed by vigilant, disciplined governance. The verse links royal enjoyment (bhoga) to responsibility—rule the realm first, remain self-controlled, and only then partake of prosperity in a way consistent with kṣatriya-dharma.
Sañjaya reports an exhortation addressed to a mighty warrior-king: with enemies defeated, he should take up the administration of the now ‘thornless’ (untroubled) earth and, staying alert, enjoy the fruits of victory together with his supporters.
