योज्यमाने ततस्तस्मिन् बाणे धनुषि पूजिते । चचाल पृथिवी राजन् सशैलवनकानना,राजन! उस उत्तम बाणको धनुषपर चढ़ाते ही पर्वत, वन और काननोंसहित सारी पृथ्वी डगमगाने लगी
yojyamāne tatastasmīn bāṇe dhanuṣi pūjite | cacāla pṛthivī rājan saśailavanakānanā ||
Sañjaya dit : «Ô Roi, au moment où cette flèche excellente et honorée fut ajustée sur l’arc, la terre entière—avec ses montagnes, ses forêts et ses bosquets—se mit à trembler.» Le vers accroît la gravité morale et narrative de l’acte : armer une arme d’une puissance divine est présenté comme un événement qui trouble l’ordre du monde, signe du poids catastrophique de l’escalade de la guerre.
