तेषामापततां शूर: पञ्चालानां तरस्विनाम्‌ | आदत्तासूज्शरै: कर्ण: पतज्रानामिवानलः

Transliteration

teṣām āpatatāṁ śūraḥ pañcālānāṁ tarasvinām | ādatta asūñ śaraiḥ karṇaḥ pataṅgānām ivānalaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya dit : Tandis que ces vaillants guerriers des Pāñcāla se ruaient à l’assaut, l’héroïque Karṇa, de ses flèches, leur ôta promptement la vie—tel un brasier qui dévore les papillons de nuit volant vers lui.
