सर्वेषां तत्र भूतानां लोमहर्षो5भ्यजायत । तद् दृष्टवा समरे कर्म कर्णशैनेययोर्नूप,नरेश्वर! समरभूमिमें कर्ण और सात्यकिका वह कर्म देखकर समस्त प्राणियोंके रोंगटे खड़े हो गये
sarveṣāṁ tatra bhūtānāṁ lomaharṣo 'bhyajāyata | tad dṛṣṭvā samare karma karṇa-śaineyayor nṛpa, nareśvara |
Sañjaya dit : Voyant l’acte accompli dans cette bataille par Karṇa et Śaineya (Sātyaki), tous les êtres présents furent saisis d’un frisson, les poils hérissés. Ô roi, seigneur des hommes, le spectacle de leur duel sur le champ de bataille souleva à la fois stupeur et effroi, révélant la puissance redoutable et le poids moral de l’action du guerrier lorsque la guerre la pousse à son comble.
