Arjuna’s Rapid Advance and the Bhīma–Śakuni Encounter
The verse highlights how krodha (anger) intensifies violence and widens its scope: a warrior’s rage can turn a focused duel into an assault on an entire army, raising the ethical warning that uncontrolled emotion in war magnifies suffering and disorder.
Sañjaya reports that Karna, described as the sūtaputra, is furious on the battlefield and moves to engage the Pandavas’ forces—signaling an escalation in the fighting as he confronts their assembled host.
