सृजन्तं सायकान् क्रुद्धं कर्णमाहवशोभिनम् | उन सभी वीरोंने रथ-मार्गसे आकर युद्धभूमिमें शोभा पाने तथा कुपित होकर बाणोंकी वर्षा करनेवाले नरश्रेष्ठ कर्णको चारों ओरसे घेर लिया
sṛjantaṃ sāyakān kruddhaṃ karṇam āhavaśobhinam |
Sañjaya dit : Les guerriers, s’avançant par les voies des chars, encerclèrent Karṇa de toutes parts—Karṇa, le plus éminent des hommes, flamboyant de colère et parant le champ de bataille tandis qu’il déversait des volées de flèches.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights a recurring epic ethic: unchecked wrath and conspicuous dominance in battle invite collective resistance. Martial excellence is admired, yet it also concentrates opposition, testing a warrior’s steadiness, judgment, and adherence to kṣatriya-dharma under pressure.
Sañjaya narrates that multiple warriors converge via the chariot-paths and encircle Karṇa, who is angrily releasing torrents of arrows and standing out as a brilliant figure on the battlefield.
