Karṇa-vadha-pratyaya: Yudhiṣṭhira’s Verification of Karṇa’s Fall (कर्णवध-प्रत्ययः)
एतदू विस्तरशो युद्ध प्रब्रूहि कुशलो हासि । न हि तृप्यामि वीराणां शृण्वानो विक्रमान् रणे,सूत! तुम युद्धसम्बन्धी इस समाचारका विस्तार-पूर्वक वर्णन करो, क्योंकि इस कार्यमें कुशल हो। रणभूमिमें वीरोंके पराक्रमका वर्णन सुनकर मुझे तृप्ति नहीं हो रही है
etad ū vistaraso yuddhaṁ prabrūhi kuśalo hāsi | na hi tṛpyāmi vīrāṇāṁ śṛṇvāno vikramān raṇe, sūta |
Śalya dit : «Raconte-moi ce combat dans tous ses détails : tu es habile en pareille narration. Car je ne suis pas rassasié ; à mesure que j’entends les prouesses des héros sur le champ de bataille, mon désir d’en entendre davantage ne s’apaise point, ô cocher.»
