कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
वरान् प्रादाद् बहुविधान् भार्गवाय महात्मने । उक्तश्न देवदेवेन प्रीतियुक्तेन शूलिना,उन देवाधिदेव त्रिशूलधारी भगवान् शिवने बड़ी प्रसन्नताके साथ महात्मा भार्गवको नाना प्रकारके वर प्रदान किये
varān prādād bahuvidhān bhārgavāya mahātmane | uktaś ca devadevena prītiyuktena śūlinā ||
Mahādeva, Seigneur des dieux, comblé et plein d’affection, accorda au magnanime Bhārgava des grâces de toutes sortes. L’épisode souligne que la faveur divine répond à la dévotion et au mérite, et que la puissance doit être conférée avec discernement plutôt qu’arrachée par l’orgueil.
