कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
ते यूयं मे रथं चैव धनुर्बाणं तथैव च । पश्यध्वं यावदद्यैतान् पातयामि महीतले,“अतः तुमलोग मेरे लिये रथ और धनुष-बाणकी खोज करो, जिसके द्वारा आज इन दैत्योंको भूतलपर मार गिराऊँ?”
te yūyaṁ me rathaṁ caiva dhanur-bāṇaṁ tathaiva ca | paśyadhvaṁ yāvad adya etān pātayāmi mahītale ||
« Ainsi donc, trouvez-moi mon char, ainsi que mon arc et mes flèches. Aujourd’hui même, je les ferai tomber à terre. »
दुर्योधन उवाच
The verse illustrates how, in wartime, leaders may intensify resolve through urgent commands and morally loaded labels (calling foes ‘daityas’). It invites reflection on ethical speech: demonizing opponents can harden violence and obscure dharmic discernment.
Duryodhana orders his attendants/warriors to locate and bring his chariot and weapons immediately, declaring that once equipped he will strike down the opposing fighters on the battlefield.
