कर्णेन युधिष्ठिरानीकविदारणम् / Karṇa’s Breach of Yudhiṣṭhira’s Battle-Line
राम: कृतस्वस्त्ययन: प्रययौ दानवान् प्रति । अब्रवीद् देवशत्रूंस्तान् महादर्पबलान्वितान्,उनकी यह बात सुनकर उसे सब प्रकारसे शिरोधार्य करके परशुराम स्वस्तिवाचन आदि मंगलकृत्य करनेके पश्चात् दानवोंका सामना करनेके लिये गये और महान् दर्प एवं बलसे सम्पन्न उन देवशत्रुओंसे इस प्रकार बोले--
rāmaḥ kṛtasvastyayanaḥ prayayau dānavān prati | abravīd devaśatrūṃs tān mahādarpabalānvitān |
Rama (Paraśurāma), après avoir dûment accompli les rites de bon augure et les récitations de bénédiction, partit affronter les Dānavas. Puis il s’adressa directement à ces ennemis des dieux—gonflés d’un immense orgueil et appuyés par une force redoutable—tel celui qui maintient l’ordre du dharma en bridant la puissance arrogante.
