Even amid a righteous war, discipline and restraint matter: once a decision is reached and forces are withdrawn, leaders must restore order and allow necessary rest. The verse highlights the ethical importance of pausing violence when the immediate objective is settled.
Sañjaya reports that after the situation was concluded and the troops were called back, the Pāṇḍava-side kings felt relieved and pleased. They went to their camp at night and rested, marking a lull between engagements.
