अथार्जुनो ज्यातलनेमिनि:स्वने मृदड्भभेरीबहुशडखनादिते । रथाश्वमातड्रसहस्रसंकुले रथोत्तमेनाभ्यपतद् द्विपोत्तमम्
athārjuno jyātalaneminīḥsvane mṛdaṅgabhērībahuśaṅkhanādite | rathāśvamātaṅgasahasrasaṅkule rathottamenābhyapatad dvipottamam ||
Sañjaya dit : Alors Arjuna, au milieu du claquement des cordes d’arc et du grondement des roues—tandis que résonnaient tambours, timbales et d’innombrables conques—lança son char d’élite dans ce champ de bataille encombré de milliers de chars, de chevaux et d’éléphants, et s’approcha du plus éminent des éléphants.
