दण्डधारवधः | The Slaying of Daṇḍadhāra
प्रतिविन्ध्यो धनुश्छित्त्वा तस्य भारत सायकै: । पजञ्चभिर्निशितैर्बाणैरथैनं स हि जध्निवान्
prativindhyo dhanuś chittvā tasya bhārata sāyakaiḥ | pañcabhir niśitair bāṇair athainaṃ sa hi jadhnivān ||
Sañjaya dit : Prativindhya trancha l’arc de son adversaire de ses flèches ; puis, ô Bhārata, de cinq traits acérés il l’abattit. La scène souligne l’effroyable efficacité de l’art guerrier : lorsque la prouesse se change en précision meurtrière, la vie et la mort se décident en un instant au cœur de la tragédie morale d’une guerre fratricide.
