Droṇa-parva Adhyāya 96: Sātyaki’s Line-Penetration, Encirclement, and Advance toward Arjuna
The verse highlights the wartime ethic of decisive action and personal responsibility in leadership: Duryodhana urges immediate engagement, framing courage and speed as crucial in kṣatriya conduct, while also revealing how confidence and pride can drive strategic choices.
Duryodhana instructs his champion to put on armor and personally hurry to confront Arjuna, who is described as furious on the battlefield. He asserts that Arjuna will be unable to withstand the opponent’s force, using this claim to press for immediate combat.
