असम्मन्त्रय मया सार्धमतिभारो<यमुद्यत: । कथं तु सर्वलोकस्य नावहास्या भवेमहि,“मेरे साथ सलाह किये बिना ही तुमने यह बड़ा भारी भार उठा लिया। ऐसी दशामें हम सम्पूर्ण लोकोंके उपहासपात्र कैसे नहीं बनेंगे?

Transliteration

asammantraya mayā sārdham atibhāro 'yam udyataḥ | kathaṁ tu sarvalokasya nāvahāsyā bhavemahi ||

Translation

Sañjaya dit : «Sans prendre conseil auprès de moi, tu as assumé ce fardeau d’un poids extrême. En pareille situation, comment ne deviendrions-nous pas la risée du monde entier ?»
