Night Vigil and Kṛṣṇa’s Instructions to Dāruka (निशि प्रजागरः—दारुकानुशासनम्)
सहस्र॑ वामनान् कुब्जान् नक्रानू मकरकच्छपान् । सौवर्णान् विहितान् दृष्टवा ततो5स्मयत वै तदा,उनमें सहसौरों नाटे-कुबड़े ग्राह, मगर और कछुए रहते थे, जिनके शरीर सुवर्णके बने हुए थे। उन्हें देखकर राजाको उन दिनों बड़ा विस्मय होता था
sahasraṁ vāmanān kubjān nakrānū makar-kacchapān | sauvarṇān vihitān dṛṣṭvā tato ’smayata vai tadā ||
Nārada dit : «On y voyait des milliers de créatures aquatiques, naines et bossues — nakras (crocodiles), makaras et tortues — façonnées tout entières d’or. En les contemplant, le roi fut alors saisi d’un profond étonnement.»
