Subhadrā-vilāpaḥ — Subhadrā’s Lament for Abhimanyu

Droṇa-parva 55

Educational Q&A

As a colophon, the verse does not teach through argument but through framing: it signals that the narrative has treated death and creation (Mṛtyu and Prajāpati) as subjects governed by a larger moral-cosmic order, encouraging reflection on how violence and mortality are to be understood within dharma.

The narrator (Dvaipāyana/Vyāsa) closes the fifty-fourth chapter of the Abhimanyu-vadha section within the Droṇa Parva, identifying the chapter’s topic as the dialogue between Mṛtyu and Prajāpati and marking the completion of that adhyāya.
