युधिछिर उवाच
Moral excellence—especially truthfulness and blameless conduct—together with meritorious action is presented as the basis for attaining one’s rightful, elevated state; valor is praised, but it is framed within ethical purity and truth.
In the midst of the Drona Parva’s war setting, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a Brahman and reflects on the destiny of exemplary royal seers: those who are righteous, truthful, and virtuous are said to abide in the proper, superior realm befitting their deeds.
