The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in its battlefield form: when confronted with an unrighteous threat, a warrior must act swiftly and decisively. It also shows how righteous duty can be intensified by personal anguish, turning resolve into fierce, focused action.
Sañjaya describes a sudden charge: the warrior, enraged, rushes at high speed against Jayadratha’s large force. In the surrounding narration (as reflected in the Hindi gloss), Arjuna’s son wounds the opposing troops with sharp arrows, scatters them, and then assaults the main body guarding Jayadratha.
