अभिनिक्षेप वेगेन युयुधानस्त्वपाक्रमत् । युयुधान (सात्यकि) अपने रथको छोड़कर दूर हट गये और उस महान् गजराजने शिनिपौत्र सात्यकिके उस रथको सूँड़से पकड़कर बड़े वेगसे फेंक दिया ।। ४३ $ ।। बृहतः सैन्धवानश्वान् समुत्थाप्याथ सारथि:
sañjaya uvāca | abhiniṣkepa-vegena yuyudhānas tv apākramat | bṛhataḥ saindhavān aśvān samutthāpyātha sārathiḥ |
Sañjaya dit : Sous l’élan d’un jet soudain et violent, Yuyudhāna (Sātyaki) se retira de l’endroit. Alors le grand roi des éléphants saisit de sa trompe le char de Sātyaki, descendant de Śini, et le projeta au loin avec une vitesse terrible. Puis le cocher, ayant excité les chevaux nés au Sindhu jusqu’à une ruée puissante, pressa l’attaque—dans une guerre où l’élan dépend de décisions fulgurantes de repli et de reprise, et où la vie comme le dharma sont éprouvés par une violence sans relâche.
