महत्‌ पूर्व स्थितो यच्च प्राणोत्पत्तिस्थितश्न यत्‌ । स्थितलिडज्ञश्न यन्नित्यं तस्मात्‌ स्थाणुरिति स्मृत:

Vyāsa dit : « Depuis les temps premiers, il demeure dans sa grandeur ; il est la cause de la naissance et du maintien des souffles vitaux ; et son corps, de nature liṅga, reste à jamais stable et immobile. C’est pourquoi on se souvient de lui comme de “Sthāṇu”, l’Immuable, celui qui se tient ferme. »
