Transliteration

ete śabdā bhṛśaṃ tīvrāḥ pravṛttāḥ kurusāgare

Translation

Yudhiṣṭhira dit : «Ces bruits—d’une âpreté et d’une intensité extrêmes—se sont élevés et se répandent à travers l’‘océan des Kurus’ (l’immense armée des Kurus)», trahissant son angoisse devant le prix moral et humain que signale le tumulte du combat.
