Educational Q&A

Even in a dharma-war, action is driven by role-based duty (kṣatriya-dharma) and immediate necessity; the verse highlights how valor and tactical resolve operate within the moral tension of fighting revered figures like Droṇa.

A warrior closes in on Droṇa, who is positioned in the chariot-seat, approaching via the chariot’s pole and attacking with an upraised sword while carrying a shining shield decorated with a hundred moon-like emblems.
