Even in the violence of war, speech grounded in dharma—noble intention, restraint, and righteous purpose—can uplift others. The verse highlights that ethically charged words are not merely personal; they become a shared moral anchor, acknowledged by sages, gods, and the wider community.
Sañjaya reports that a great-souled warrior’s statement is received with delight and respect. The response is collective and cosmic: gods and seers, along with all the assembled troops, approve and honor the utterance, indicating its perceived righteousness and its power to inspire the battlefield audience.
