यद्येतन्न रहस्यं ते वक्तुमर्हस्यरिंदम । धैर्यस्य वैकृतं ब्रूहि त्वमद्य मधुसूदन,“शत्रुदमन! यदि कोई गोपनीय बात न हो तो मुझे अवश्य बतावें। मधुसूदन! आपके इस हर्ष-प्रदर्शनसे आज हमारा धैर्य छूटा जा रहा है, अतः आप इसका कारण अवश्य बतावें

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | yady etan na rahasyaṃ te vaktum arhasi rinda­ma | dhairyasy vaikṛtaṃ brūhi tvam adya madhusūdana ||

Translation

Sañjaya dit : «Ô dompteur des ennemis, si cela n’est pas un secret à garder et si tu juges bon de le dire, alors parle. Ô Madhusūdana, aujourd’hui notre calme est ébranlé par cette manifestation de joie si inhabituelle ; explique-en donc la cause.»
