कर्ण प्राच्छादयद् बाणै: स्वर्भानुरिव भास्करम् । चक्रको गिराया हुआ देख क्रोधमें भरे हुए घटोत्कचने अपने बाणोंद्वारा कर्णको उसी प्रकार आच्छादित कर दिया, जैसे राहु सूर्यको ढक देता है || ४८ $ ।। सूतपुत्रस्त्वसम्भ्रान्तो रुद्रोपेन्द्रेन्द्रविक्रम:
sañjaya uvāca |
karṇaṃ prācchādayad bāṇaiḥ svarbhānur iva bhāskaram |
sūtaputras tv asambhrānto rudropendra-indra-vikramaḥ |
Sañjaya dit : Ghaṭotkaca recouvrit Karṇa d’une pluie serrée de flèches, comme Svarbhānu (Rāhu) voile le Soleil. Pourtant Karṇa — fils du cocher — demeura inébranlable et déploya une vaillance digne de Rudra, d’Upendra (Viṣṇu) et d’Indra, soutenant l’assaut avec un courage ferme au cœur de la fureur guerrière.
