स सम्प्रहारस्तुमुलो निशि प्रत्यभवन्महान् । यथा सागरयो राजंश्नन्द्रोदयविवृद्धयो:,राजन! उस रात्रिमें चन्द्रोदयकालमें उमड़े हुए दो महासागरोंके सदृश उन दोनों दलोंका वह महान् संग्राम अत्यन्त भयंकर प्रतीत होता था
sa samprahāras tumulo niśi pratyabhavan mahān | yathā sāgarayor rājan candrodayavivṛddhayoḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : «Ô roi, ce choc devint immense et tumultueux dans la nuit. Il paraissait d’une horreur extrême — tel deux grands océans qui enflent au lever de la lune — ainsi la bataille entre les deux armées montait et grondait.»
