The verse highlights kṣatriya-dharma in practice: disciplined unity (sahitāḥ) and steadfast courage in confronting formidable opponents, even amid fearsome displays like repeated war-roars. Ethical emphasis lies on collective resolve and duty-bound engagement rather than personal panic or disorder.
Sañjaya reports that the Pāṇḍavas, supported and protected by their full army, advance to face two unnamed heroic warriors who repeatedly roar in challenge. The scene depicts a renewed clash as both sides close in for combat.
