सर्वथा हतमेवेदं कौरवाणां महद् बलम् | न हास्य विद्यते त्राता साक्षादपि पुरंदर:,“कौरवोंकी यह विशाल सेना अब सर्वथा नष्टप्राय ही है। साक्षात् देवराज इन्द्र भी इसकी रक्षा नहीं कर सकते
sarvathā hatam evedaṃ kauravāṇāṃ mahad balam | na hāsya vidyate trātā sākṣād api puraṃdaraḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : «À tous égards, cette grande armée des Kaurava est comme déjà morte—virtuellement anéantie. Il ne lui reste aucun protecteur ; pas même Purandara (Indra), fût-il présent en personne, ne pourrait la sauver.»
