द्रोणपर्व — पञ्चदशोऽध्यायः (Droṇa Parva, Chapter 15): युधिष्ठिर-रक्षा तथा अर्जुनस्य शरवृष्टिः
निर्जित्य धार्तराष्ट्रांस्तु पाण्डवेया महारथा: । व्यरोचन्त रणे राजन् दीप्यमाना इवाग्नय:,राजन्! इस प्रकार आपके पुत्रोंकी जीतकर महारथी पाण्डव प्रज्वलित अग्नियोंकी भाँति रणक्षेत्रमें प्रकाशित होने लगे
nirjitya dhārtarāṣṭrāṁs tu pāṇḍaveyā mahārathāḥ | vyarocanta raṇe rājan dīpyamānā ivāgnayaḥ ||
Sañjaya dit : Ô roi, après avoir vaincu les fils de Dhṛtarāṣṭra, les grands guerriers de char des Pāṇḍava resplendirent sur le champ de bataille, tels des feux flamboyants—image qui rappelle que la victoire se manifeste en prouesse et en ardeur visibles, quand bien même la guerre demeure lourde de dharma et de ruine.
